Sign up for Harness

Sign up for Harness to create a Free account in a few minutes. When you finish, Harness provisions your account, grants you free licenses for every module, and adds a monthly allowance of Harness Subscription Units (HSUs) so you can start building right away.

Before you begin​

  • A work email address: Harness sends a verification link to this address. Personal email domains are supported, but a work address keeps your account aligned with your team.
  • Access to your inbox: You must open the verification link before you can continue.
  • A supported browser: Use a current version of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari.

Create your account​

  1. Go to the Harness sign-up page.
  2. Enter your email address and a password.
  3. Click Sign up.

Harness sends a verification email to the address you entered.

tip

If your organization already has a Harness account, ask your account administrator to invite you instead of signing up. Signing up creates a separate account that does not share projects, pipelines, or an HSU balance with your organization.

Verify your email address​

  1. Open the verification email from Harness.
  2. Click the verification link.

The link opens Harness and continues to the profile step. Verification links expire, so request a new email if the link no longer works.

I signed up for Harness but never received the verification email

Check your spam and quarantine folders, confirm the address you entered has no typo, and ask your mail administrator to allow messages from harness.io. You can also return to the sign-up page and request a new verification email.

Harness says my email address is already registered when I try to sign up

An account already exists for that address. Go to the sign-in page and reset your password instead of creating a new account.

Complete your profile​

After you verify your email address, Harness asks for a few details about you and your organization.

  1. Enter your name and company name.
  2. Select your role and the size of your organization.
  3. Click Continue.

Harness uses these details to tailor the modules and guidance shown in your account. Nothing on this form affects your plan or your HSU allowance.

Explore your Free account​

Harness provisions your account as soon as you complete your profile, then opens the Harness user interface. Your new account includes the following:

  • Free licenses for every module: Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Platform, Infrastructure as Code Management, Internal Developer Portal, Security Testing Orchestration, and the remaining modules are all enabled.
  • 1,000 HSUs per month: This allowance resets at the start of each calendar month.
  • Harness AI: Ask Harness AI to generate a pipeline or explain a configuration from any page.

To confirm what Harness provisioned, navigate to Account Settings, then select Subscriptions.
